Effective August 4, 2026

About This Messaging Program

DeShaw Law Firm (Dr. Aaron DeShaw, Esq., P.C.) uses text messaging to communicate with current clients and with individuals who have contacted our firm about a potential personal injury matter. This notice describes that program, referred to here as DeShaw Law Firm Client Messaging.

How You Come to Receive Messages from Us

We send text messages only to individuals who have given us their mobile number and agreed to be contacted by text.

We do not send text messages to individuals who have not given us their number for that purpose. We do not purchase, rent, or import mobile numbers from lead generators, list brokers, or other law firms for text messaging.

What Messages You Will Receive

Messages from DeShaw Law Firm may include:

  • Scheduling and confirmation of appointments, consultations, depositions, medical examinations, mediations, arbitration, court appearances and trial;
  • Requests for documents, records, or information needed for your matter;
  • Case status updates and notices of deadlines;
  • Responses to questions you have sent our office; and
  • Administrative messages about your case.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on the activity in your matter.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. DeShaw Law Firm does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may. Contact your carrier for details about your plan.

Help

For help with this messaging program, reply HELP to any message from us, or contact our office at 503-227-1233 or ali@deshawlaw.com.

Stopping Messages

You may stop receiving text messages from DeShaw Law at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. You will receive a single confirmation that no further messages will be sent.

You may also stop text messages by any other reasonable method, including by calling our office at 503-227-1233, emailing ali@deshawlaw.com, writing to us at the address below, or telling any member of our staff. We will honor your request regardless of how you communicate it.

Stopping text messages will not end your representation, and it will not stop us from contacting you about your matter by telephone, email, or mail.

Privacy of Your Mobile Number

Your mobile number and your consent to receive text messages will not be sold, rented, or shared with any third party for that third party’s own marketing purposes. We may share your number only with service providers who help us deliver messages on our behalf, such as our messaging platform and telecommunications carriers, and only for that purpose.

No Attorney-Client Relationship Created by Text Message

Sending a text message to DeShaw Law does not create an attorney-client relationship. No attorney-client relationship exists until we have agreed in writing to represent you through a signed fee agreement.
