Portland Personal Injury Firm takes special measures for brain injured clients

Since our Portland Personal Injury law firm handles a high percentage of traumatic brain injury cases, and have modified our web site as well as our office specifically for people with known brain injury issues.

Some of that has to do with not using patterns on the carpets. It tends to be something that really bothers people with traumatic brain injuries, and even sometimes visual disturbances as a result of traumatic brain injuries.

Another thing is people become very sensitive to light. We're able to close the blinds and we've used specific lighting in our conference area where we meet new clients to minimize the impact of photophobia or light sensitivity on these folks.

We've taken a decidedly small volume approach to practicing law. Instead of accepting 2- or 300-plus cases in our firm, I tend to handle between 10 and 30 cases at one time. We believe that in order to concentrate on people who have been severely injured, we need to dedicate more time to them and be very conscious about how we operate our law firm.

As a result of the low volume, you will find out that there are many fewer people in the office, resulting in a much quieter atmosphere for people who have difficulty dealing with a complex and confusing atmosphere.

In this way, we've attempted to make the environment for brain injured people as conducive as possible, to you being comfortable in our office and being able to sit and talk to me for an extended period of time so that I fully understand the consequences of the injury that you've sustained.
