Legal Career
Upon graduating from law school, he began practicing in Southern Idaho, where his wife grew up, gaining valuable experience in plaintiff's work. This role allowed him to assist personal injury clients, reinforcing his desire to hold corporations accountable for prioritizing profits over safety.
His return to Oregon marked a pivotal moment in his career, as he recognized his true calling; to help individuals recover from their injuries and navigate the complexities of the legal system. However, he realized he still needed to gain experience in the courtroom before he could truly help others navigate that legal system.
Following the advice of many great trial lawyers, and to further develop his skills, he took on the challenging role of an indigent criminal defense attorney. This position provided him with numerous opportunities to conduct jury trials and argue cases before the court, enhancing his trial advocacy skills.
Mr. Coon was one of a select group of lawyers chosen for legendary Oregon lawyer Bill Barton's new lawyer program, a training program for lawyers sponsored by the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. It was while at the Barton Bootcamp where he met Dr. DeShaw. Over the course of a year, the two discussed the practice of law. Caleb demonstrated significant efforts in improving his skills by reading many legal practice texts, watching continuing legal education videos to build his trial skills, and listening to many leading personal injury podcasts. His level of dedication to being an exceptional trial lawyer resulted in him joining our firm as the first associate in nearly ten years.
Now, under the mentorship of one of Oregon's most knowledgeable trial lawyers, he has the opportunity to refine his approach and deepen his understanding of both the law and medicine.
Today, Caleb is dedicated to representing those in need of an advocate. He understands the struggles faced by individuals dealing with legal challenges and insurance company tactics, and is committed to fighting for the rights of injured people. His career reflects a profound dedication to justice and honesty, making him a respected figure among his peers.
When not at work Caleb can be found spending time with his family. He and his amazing wife are the parents to five young children who keep them on their toes. When not advocating for his clients, Caleb is attending soccer games, building Legos, attending school functions, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his family.
